There are no direct international flights to Pamplona.

We therefore recommend flying from the UK with either Ryanair to Vitoria, Zaragoza and Biarritz or with BA / Iberia and EasyJet to Bilbao. Coming from outside the UK, you can fly to Bilbao or indeed to Barcelona or Madrid where internal flights can be connected to Pamplona itself.

See area map for an idea of distances to Pamplona.

• Flying to Vitoria, Zaragoza and Biarritz

Ryanair flies to these three cities from the UK.

From Vitoria airport you can take a taxi or bus to Vitoria town centre and then a bus direct to Pamplona. The bus takes about 90 minutes and during Sanfermines more buses are laid on. There is an information desk at the airport that can help you (and they speak English).

From Zaragoza airport you can take a bus to Zaragoza town centre or a taxi (recommended - ˆ15) and then change for a direct bus or train to Pamplona. The bus takes 2 hours. Again there is an English speaking information desk at the airport with all the details.

From Biarritz hiring a car is the only realistic option.

• Flying to Bilbao

BA, Iberia and Easyjet as well as several other International airlines, all fly to Bilbao from the UK and elsewhere.

There are buses from Bilbao to Pamplona. Click here for bus route maps and timetables from Bilbao to Pamplona.

• Flying to Pamplona

You can only fly into Pamplona (PNA Noain airport) via Iberia, or it's subsidiary Air Nostrum, with connections from Madrid and Barcelona.

• Car Rental

Cars can obviously be rented in Bilbao, Vitoria, San Sebastian and Pamplona (advance reservation advised). National-Atesa, Europcar, Avis and Hertz are the three companies with offices in Pamplona itself.

Parking in Pamplona during the festival has always been difficult. The city has designated the majority of street parking spaces as paid parking only, so if you are parked in a blue zone, there is a time limit, and it is enforced 24 hours a day. We advise you to drop your rental car off when you arrive and pick up another car when you leave. Rental cars can be dropped off at either the airport or at a downtown location.
